Dunmore, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), in collaboration with the City of Scranton, will close Marvine Avenue and Wells Street to through traffic due to safety concerns beginning Monday, March 9. The road closure will be at the intersection of Marvine Avenue and Wells Street. Residents that live on these city streets will still have access to their properties from North Main Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will continue to use Marvine Avenue and Wells Street for the pedestrian detour route.
Drivers should follow the signed detours routes to navigate around the closure on North Main Avenue for the bridge replacement project. The signed detour route coming from the west is Parker Street to Boulevard Avenue and back onto Main Street. The detour from Dickson City is Boulevard Avenue to Parker Street and back onto Main Avenue. Lastly, the truck detour route is Interstate 81 to the North Scranton Expressway.
