    PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

    Week of September 8, 2026        

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 8. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Base repair:

    • Route 136 in West Newton Borough

    Cleaning ditch channels:

    • Route 2033 (Bethel Church Road) in Unity Township
    • Route 1043 (Pandora Road) in Derry Township
    • Route 2019 (Marguerite Road) in Unity Township

    Ditching:

    • Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Hempfield Township
    • Route 3089 (Buttermore Avenue) in East Huntingdon Township
    • Route 3021 (Salem Church Road) in Rostraver Township

    Inlet adjustment:

    • Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Mt Pleasant Township

    Pipe repair/replacement:

    • Route 2021 (Mt. Pleasant/Kecksburg Road) in Mt Pleasant Township
    • Route 259 (Coal Pit Road) in Fairfield Township

    Patching:

    • Various routes in Westmoreland County
    • Route 30 in North Huntingdon Township

    Mechanized Patching:

    • Route 1008 (Derry Ridge Road) in Derry Township

    Shoulder cutting:

    • Route 4089 (Hulton Road) in Allegheny Township
    • Route 4073 (White Cloud Road) in Allegheny Township
    • Route 4054 (Holland Street/LaBelle Vue Road) in Vandergrift Borough
    • Route 4071 (Pine Run Road) in Allegheny Township
    • Route 4099 (Sheridan Road) in Oklahoma Borough

    Shoulder stabilization:

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
