​Motorists are encouraged to "Know Before You Go" by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.

Would you like to report a concern on state-owned road conditions, construction projects, signs or signals, or speed limits? Please use our online Customer Care Center and your concern will be directed to the appropriate county maintenance office.

You may also report a concern by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD. This number can be used for immediate needs or safety issues, but for emergencies or unsafe conditions you should always call 9-1-1.

If you are returning a Pennsylvania registration plate that is no longer valid or required, please return the Pennsylvania registration plate to:

Once your plate has been received by PennDOT, it will be marked as a "dead tag" on the vehicle record. By returning your Pennsylvania registration plate to PennDOT, this will help protect you.

If you've experienced damage to your vehicle or property, you may submit a claim to the commonwealth. The commonwealth's Bureau of Finance and Risk Management (FARM) within the Department of General Services is responsible for determining if a claim should be paid. FARM is not associated with PennDOT.

While PennDOT issues licensing products and promotes safety on Pennsylvania's roads, the department does not actually enforce transportation laws. If you have a question regarding a specific law, we suggest you contact your local law enforcement agency or the Pennsylvania State Police.
