Shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures expected
Harrisburg, PA –The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that highway sign replacement will begin next week on the Route 15 pavement preservation project in Freedom, Cumberland, Mounty Joy and Straban townships, Adams County.
This work is part of a 14.8-mile pavement preservation project that includes diamond grinding, milling and overlaying ramps and shoulders, guide rail replacement, pipe replacement, and other miscellaneous activities on Route 15 from the Maryland state line to the Route 394 (Shriver’s Corner Road) Exit.
Weather permitting, the contractor will work from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM starting Monday, March 10, with shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures as needed using temporary, short-term, daylight signing.
The contractor will begin at the Maryland state line and replace signs in the northbound lanes to Route 394, then perform the same work in the southbound direction.
This work is expected to be completed sometime in May.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $8,318,599 project.
