Inspection Scheduled for I-81 Bridge over Letort Spring Run in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County

Lane restrictions on I-81

Harrisburg, PA The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an inspection is scheduled for the northbound and southbound Interstate 81 bridges spanning Letort Spring Run near Carlisle in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County. The bridge is located just east of Exit 47 (Route 34/Hanover Street).

Weather permitting, this work will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the northbound direction on Monday, April 6, and in the southbound direction on Thursday, April 9.

There will be a right lane restriction on the northbound bridge on Monday, and on the southbound bridge on Thursday.

Inspectors plan to inspect the bridges using an inspection crane from the roadway.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
