    District 9 - Bedford County

    Ramp Closures on U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) Continue May 4 through May 15 in Bedford County

     Short detours will guide traffic through the cloverleaf to desired routes.

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of the exit-ramp closure on U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Bedford County, for milling and paving operations beginning Monday, May 4, 2026. 

    New Enterprise Stone & Lime, New Enterprise, Pa., is the lead contractor for the 3.4-mile, $6,059,067 pavement and bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. 30 from T-706 (Scenic Road) and Route 4010 (Pitt Street), and on Route 1033 (Sunnyside Extension), in Bedford Borough, Bedford County. The project is anticipated to be completed on October 14, 2026.

    The project calls for multiple individual exit-ramp closures at the US 30/US 220 Interchange for milling and paving operations, which will each vary in length from four (4) to seven (7) days.

    From Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 15, the contractor will close individual ramps, starting with the U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) East exit-ramp to U.S. 220 South Cumberland. Upon completion, contractors will close the ramps for:

    • U.S 220 South to U.S. 30 East Everett Breezewood
    •  U.S. 30 East to U.S. 220 North, I-99 North Altoona
    •  U.S. 220 North I-99 North to U.S. 30 East Everett

    Only one ramp will be closed and detoured at a time. Subsequent ramp closures from will take place immediately after the reopening of each previous ramp closure. Short detours will guide traffic through the cloverleaf to the desired routes.

    As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Drivers should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.    

    Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
