Safety Improvement Project to Begin at Route 441 (Sycamore Street) Intersection with Paxton Street in Harrisburg, Dauphin County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a safety improvement project is set to begin next week at the Route 441 (Sycamore Street) intersection with Paxton Street (Route 3010) in the City of Harrisburg and Swatara Township, Dauphin County.

In the coming weeks, crews will be surveying, setting work zone signs and temporary fencing, preparing for curb work at the intersection with 28th Street, placing filter sock, and grading at the bank entrance near 28th Street.

Daylight work will be performed between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM and night work will be performed between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. There will be lane restrictions under flagging during work hours.

Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work is part of a safety improvement project that consists of phased construction and realignment at the intersection of Route 441 and Paxton Street (Route 3010), and other related construction activities.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of Camp Hill, PA, is the contractor for this $3,075,000 project. All work is expected to be completed by April 20, 2028.
