Paving to Begin on Tuesday, May 26, for Route 30 Resurfacing Project in Hellam Township, York County

Expect nighttime lane restrictions, possible delays.

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that paving is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 26, on eastbound Route 30 in Hellam Township, York County. This work is associated with a resurfacing project on Route 30 from just west of the Route 462/Hallam Exit to the Wrights Ferry bridge spanning the Susquehanna River.

Weather permitting, work will start 9:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26, and continue nightly from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday for about three weeks, with pavement markings, signs and guide rail to follow.

Friday nights will be used as backup, as needed. The contractor will start just west of the Route 462/Hallam Exit and work in the eastbound direction. There will be nighttime lane restrictions on eastbound Route 30.

Once work in the eastbound direction is completed, work will switch to the westbound lanes.

This resurfacing project consists of milling, asphalt resurfacing, base repair, concrete paving, concrete patching, drainage improvements, guiderail updates, line painting, sign updates, structure repairs and other miscellaneous construction on Route 30 (Arsenal Road) from just west of the Route 462/Hallam Exit to the Wrights Ferry Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $15,475,000 project. All work on this contract is expected to be completed by December 21, 2027.
