Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today preparations are underway marking the start of a bridge replacement project on the Nyes Road (Route 2019) bridge over Beaver Creek in Lower Paxton and South Hanover townships, Dauphin County
Over the next few days, the contractor will be setting up temporary traffic signal poles in preparation for staged construction. There will be daylight lane restrictions under flagging during work hours.
Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
Eventually both a long-term detour route and a short-term detour route will be necessary when the bridge is completely closed to traffic. An updated press release will be issued prior to the scheduled road closure and detour.
Work under this contract consists of replacing the bridge, drainage work, minor roadway approach reconstruction and new guiderail.
Lobar Site Development Corp., of Dillsburg PA, is the contractor for this $2,016,352 bridge replacement project. All work is expected to be completed by June 8, 2027.
