Nighttime Interstate Concrete Patching Work Planned on I-81 and I-78 in Lebanon County

Expect single-lane restrictions and travel delays during work hours.

Harrisburg, PA The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that concrete patching work is scheduled to begin on sections of Interstate 81 and Interstate 78 in Lebanon County.

Night work will start Monday, July 6, from 9:00 PM until 6:00 AM on I-81 in the northbound lanes between mile marker 95.4 and 95.6 in Bethel Township, Lebanon County.  

Weather permitting, this work will continue Tuesday through Thursday, July 7-9, from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM and the following weeks, Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM. There will be lane restrictions during work hours.

Following work on northbound I-81, the contractor will conduct operations on these sections of interstate:

  • I-81 in the southbound lanes near mile marker 87.8 in Union Township, Lebanon County.
  • I-78 in the eastbound lanes near Swatara Creek and mile marker 2 in Union Township, Lebanon County.

Drivers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.

New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor for this $3,250,000 highway maintenance project.
