Mobile Crack Sealing Operations Will Begin Next Week on Secondary State Routes in Southern Lancaster County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that work under a countywide crack sealing contract is expected to begin next week in Lancaster County.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, June 15. Initially, the contractor will work during daylight hours starting on secondary state routes in southern Lancaster County.

This work will take place over the next four weeks finishing in mid-July.

Work will then move to the more heavily traveled routes which consist of Route 30, Route 222, Route 230, Route 241, Route 272, Route 283, Route 501, Route 722 and Route 772. In August, nighttime operations will be conducted from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM on Route 30 in Lancaster and York counties as well as Route 283 in Lancaster County.

This will be a slow-moving mobile operation using short-term lane closures on limited access highways. Drivers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.

Kriger Construction, Inc., of Archbald, PA, is the contractor on this $1,707,210 project. All work is expected to be completed by November 20, 2026.
