Bridge Replacement Project to Begin on Campground Road in York County

Bridge scheduled to be closed this spring; Separate detours will be in place for vehicles and bikes

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today a bridge replacement project on Campground Road (Route 4045) in York County is scheduled to begin in January. The bridge spans Dogwood Run between Pine Street and Mountain Road just west of Dillsburg in Carroll Township.

Weather permitting, clearing and grubbing to prepare for utility work will begin on or around Monday, January 26. There will be periodic daylight lane closures with flagging, as needed.

The bridge is expected to be closed Monday, March 30. A detour of up to 175 days will be in place for motor vehicles using Mountain Road, Route 15, and Route 74 (York Road).

A bicycle detour will use Mountain Road and Dogwood Lane.

Detours are expected to be lifted by September 21, 2026.

Work includes structure replacement, guiderail upgrades and other miscellaneous construction.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs is the contractor on this $1,125,675 project. All work is expected to be completed by December 18, 2026.
