King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Pennsylvania American Water utility construction will close First Avenue in South Coatesville Borough, Chester County, beginning on Monday, July 20.
Drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, July 20, through Friday, August 21, First Avenue will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Modena Road and Newlinville Road.
During the closure, passenger vehicles will be directed to use Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway), Route 82 (Strode Avenue/Doe Run Road), and Strasburg Road. Trucks will be directed to use Route 82 (1st Avenue), U.S. 30 (Coatesville Downingtown Bypass), Airport Road, Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway), Route 82 (Strode Avenue/Doe Run Road), and Strasburg Road.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour routes because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Pennsylvania American Water will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
