King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the bridge carrying Evansburg Road over Shady Brook Run in Skippack Township, Montgomery County, has been closed due to severe bridge scour discovered during a recent inspection.
Motorists are advised that Evansburg Road will be closed and detoured between Hidden Forest Drive and Ivy Lane until PennDOT bridge engineers can develop a plan to repair and safely reopen the roadway.
During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Meeting House Road, Creamery Road, Route 113 (Bridge Road), and Mill Road.
The single-span, arch deck bridge was built in 1930 and reconstructed in 1971. The structure is 15-feet-long, 21.5-feet-wide, and carries approximately 3,247 vehicles per day.
