Dunmore, PA – Drivers are advised of a road closure on Interstate 81 southbound in Lackawanna County as the result of a crash near the President Biden Expressway (Exit 185.) Traffic currently backed up on both Interstate 81 and Interstate 84 is being detoured onto Route 6 West. There is no estimate as to when Interstate 81 will reopen.
When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
