    Road Closure and Detour for Route 447 Bridge Replacement in Wayne County

    Dunmore, PA – A road closure and detour will be in place on Panther Road (Route 447) in Dreher Township, Wayne County beginning on Monday, May 4, 2026, and continuing through mid-August 2026, to allow for bridge reconstruction over Wallenpaupack Creek. There will be separate detour routes for passenger cars and trucks.

    Truck Detour:

    Coming from Main Street (Route 191)

    • At the intersection of Crestmont Drive and Main Street (Route 507)/Lake Wallenpaupack Road (Route 191), continue straight on Main Street/Lake Wallenpaupack Road for 1.3 miles.
    • Continue straight on Main Street (Route 191) for 11.4 miles.
    • Turn left on Peterson Road (Route 390).
    • Continue straight on Peterson Road (Route 390) for 2.2 miles.

    Coming from Panther Road (Route 447)

    • At the intersection of Panther Road (Route 447) and Peterson Road (Route 390), turn left onto Peterson Road (Route 390).
    • Continue straight on Peterson Road (Route 390) for 2.2 miles.
    • Turn right onto Main Street (Route 191).
    • Continue straight on Main Street (Route 191) for 12.8 miles.

    Passenger Vehicle Detour:

    Coming from Main Street (Route 191)

    • At the intersection of Crestmont Drive and Main Street (Route 191) continue straight on Route 191 for 0.4 miles.
    • At the intersection of Lake Wallenpaupack Road (Route 507) and East Sterling Road (Route 191), continue straight to Lake Wallenpaupack Road.
    • Continue North on Lake Wallenpaupack Road for 0.8 miles to the intersection with Brink Hill Road (Route 3006).
    • Turn right onto Brink Hill Road and continue East for 0.1 miles to the intersection with Hemlock Grove Road (Route 3001).
    • Turn right onto Hemlock Grove Road (Route 3001) and continue South for 1 mile to the intersection with Roemerville Road (Route 3002).
    • Continue South on Hemlock Grove Road for 0.5 miles to the intersection with Panther Road (Route 447).

    Coming from Panther Road (Route 447)

    • At the intersection of Panther Road (Route 447) and Hemlock Grove Road (Route 3004) turn right onto Hemlock Grove Road.
    • Continue North for 0.5 miles to the intersection with Roemerville Road (Route 3002).
    • Continue North on Hemlock Grove Road for 1 mile to the intersection with Brink Hill Road (Route 3006).
    • Turn left onto Brink Hill Road and continue West for 0.1 miles to the intersection with Lake Wallenpaupack Road (Route 507).
    • Turn left onto Lake Wallenpaupack Road (Route 507).
    • Continue South on Lake Wallenpaupack Road for 0.8 miles, then continue straight to Main Street (Route 191).
    • Continue South on Main Street for 0.4 miles to the intersection with Crestmont Drive.

    When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
