Dunmore, PA – There will be overnight lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound in Lackawanna County beginning Sunday, April 12, 2026, continuing through Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM nightly for ground test boring.
· Northbound overnight lane restrictions will vary in location between Exit 178 (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport/Avoca) and Exit 186 (Dunmore/Drinker Street) beginning Sunday, April 12, 2026, through Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
· Southbound overnight lane restrictions will vary in location between Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) and Exit 178 (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport/Avoca) beginning Wednesday, April 15, 2026, through Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
