Montoursville, PA – A traffic signal upgrade project continues next week at the intersection of South Main Street (Route 2014) and Penn Street (Route 2044) in Muncy Borough, Lycoming County.
Between Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 15, the contractor, Herr Signal and Lighting Company will begin the traffic signal installation. Work includes installing new poles, horizontal masts, traffic signals, connecting the electric, removing the existing signals and posts, and activating the new traffic signal. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Drivers can expect intermittent delays in travel between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, weather permitting.
The contractor anticipates a pause in traffic impacts when schools are released for the day. PennDOT urges drivers to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
The traffic signal upgrade is part of a Green Light Go project sponsored by Muncy Borough. The primary contractor for the project is Herr Signal and Lighting Company. The Green Light Go is a Pennsylvania’s Municipal Signal Partnership Program, also known as the “Green Light-Go Program.” For more information on the program, please visit PennDOT|Green Light-Go Program.
