Reconstruction Project Continues on Interstate 80 in Montour and Northumberland Counties

Montoursville, PA – Drivers traveling Interstate 80 east and west are advised that a multi-year construction project continues between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County.

The Week of Sunday, May 3

The contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, will continue work on Interstate 80 in both directions. A waterproofing membrane will be applied to the bridge decks on Interstate 80 westbound over Chillisquaque Creek and Narehood Road. Paving will begin on Interstate 80 eastbound lanes.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Eastbound: Drivers can expect daily alternating lane restrictions from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM (11-hours a day) between Sunday and Friday where work is being performed.
  • Westbound: Drivers can expect single lane restrictions beginning Sunday 7:00 PM through Friday 6:00 AM (24-hours a day) where work is being performed.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $53,138,380 project. Work includes roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, structure replacement, rehabilitation, preservation, lighting, and other miscellaneous work. This multi-year project is expected to be completed in 2027.
