Multi-County Microsurfacing Project Continues in North Central PA

Work next week is planned in Bradford County.

Montoursville, PA – A multi-county microsurfacing project continues several routes in Athens, North Towanda, and Ulster townships in Bradford County, Clinton and Brady townships in Lycoming, and Lawrence, Richmond, and Tioga townships in Tioga County, and Union counties.

Work on the project includes removal of the existing line paint and application of microsurfacing. Drivers can expect alternating lane restrictions on four lane roads and single lane restrictions with flagging on two lane roads.

The week of Monday, July 6 microsurfacing will take place at the following locations, weather permitting.

Bradford County

  • Route 220 between Wolcott Hollow Road (Route 4018) and Tomahawk Road (T-593) in North Towanda and Athens townships. Work will take place between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel and drive with caution through the work zone.

Suite-Kote Corporation is the prime contractor for this $2.7 million multi-route  microsurfacing contract. Routes included in this multi-county microsurfacing project are listed below by county. 

Bradford County

  • Route 220 between Wolcott Hollow Road (Route 4018) and Tomahawk Road (T-593) in North Towanda and Athens townships.
  • Bridge Street (Route 1022) between Route 220 and the Susquehanna River Bridge in Ulster Township.

Lycoming County

  • Route 15 between Route 54 and Union/Lycoming County line in Clinton Township and Brady townships.

Tioga County

  • Route 6 between Copper Road (T-499) and Hollow Road (T-491) in Richmond Township.
  • Route 287 between Woodford Road and Route 15 in Tioga Township & Lawrence Township.

Work on the project includes removal of the line paint, application of a double microsurfacing material, installation of rumble strips, and miscellaneous construction. Work on the project is anticipated to be completed in October 2026, weather permitting.
