    Bridge Replacement Resumes Next Week on Route 87 in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County

    March 24, 2026

    Montoursville, PA – A bridge replacement project will resume next week on Route 87 in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County. The bridge, which spans Ogdonia Creek, is located approximately 0.1 mile south of Ogdonia Road (Route 3005) in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County and approximately 5.6 miles north of Dunwoody Road (Route 1007) in Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County.

    On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the contractor, John Nastase Construction, will begin placing signage and mobilizing equipment to construct a temporary roadway and bridge on the northbound side of the existing bridge. There will be minimal impacts to traffic while the temporary structures are being constructed.

    Drivers should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway. In addition, drivers should slow down and drive with caution as heavy machinery will be operating in the area,

    John Nastase Construction is the prime contractor for this $2,227,777 bridge replacement project. Work on the project includes construction of a temporary roadway and bridge, installation of temporary traffic signals, removal of the existing structure, construction of a new structure, approach work, paving, line painting, guide rail, and removal of the temporary roadway and bridge. The project is anticipated to be completed in fall of 2026, weather permitting.
