Bridge Repair Project Continues on Eighth Street Bridge in Delaware Township, Northumberland County

Rolling Roadblocks to Occur Tomorrow on I-180.

Montoursville, PA – A bridge repair project on the Eighth Street (Route 1006) over Interstate 180 in Delaware Township, Northumberland County continues this week.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1, the contractor, Rylind Construction Company, Inc, will implement rolling roadblocks on the westbound lanes of Interstate 180 while a crane removes a beam from the Eighth Street bridge.  The roadblocks will begin at approximately 7:30 AM and will intermittently stop traffic to accommodate the beam removal.

Eighth Street remains closed between the Susquehanna Trail (Route 1007) and Route 44, while the contractor, Rylind Construction Company, removes and replaces a beam that was damaged last year during a bridge strike. Additional work includes application of protective coating and resurfacing of the road.

A detour using Susquehanna Trail and Route 44 will be in place through August.

Rylind Construction Company, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $639,000 bridge repair project Work includes replacing a beam that was damaged last year, protective coatings to the structure and resurfacing the road. Work on the project is anticipated to be completed in September 2026.
