Bridge Repair Project Begins Next Week on Eighth Street Bridge in Delaware Township, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – Drivers are advised that a portion of Eighth Street (Route 1006) will be closed in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, while the bridge spanning Interstate 180 is repaired. 

Starting on Wednesday June 17, Eighth Street will be closed between the Susquehanna Trail (Route 1007) and Route 44, while the contractor Rylind Construction Company, removes and replaces a beam that was damaged last year during a bridge strike. Additional work includes application of a protective coating and resurfacing of the road.

A detour using Susquehanna Trail and Route 44 will be in place through August.

Rylind Construction Company, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $639,000 bridge repair project. Work on the project is anticipated to be completed in September 2026.
