Bicycle Race May Impact Travel in Anthony and Derry Townships, Montour County Next Weekend

Montoursville, PA – Drivers who travel in Montour County are advised a bicycle race may impact travel in Anthony and Derry townships, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.

The permitted event will be held in Anthony and Derry townships along Preserve Road (Route 1006), Stamm Road (Route 1009), Sportsman Road, Magargle Road, and Strawberry Ridge Road (Route 1002).

Drivers can expect to encounter flaggers controlling traffic at intersections along the racecourse during the event.

Residents along the racecourse were to be notified by race organizers, the Bucknell Cycling Team.

Drivers should be on the lookout for pedestrians and bicyclists in the area and are reminded of Pennsylvania’s Bicycle Law: When passing, you must allow at least four feet between your vehicle and a bicycle for the vehicle to safely pass the bicycle. When safe to do so, it is legal to cross the center double yellow line if necessary to provide the required four feet when passing a bicycle.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
