PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of October 13, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 13. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Ditching:

  • Route 3089 (Buttermore Avenue) in East Huntingdon Township
  • Route 2012 (Brinkerton Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township
  • Route 2010 (Armbrust-Hecla Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township
  • Route 3097 (Baltzer Meyer Pike) in Hempfield Township

Cleaning ditch channels:

  • Route 1005 (Shannon Creek Road) in St. Clair Township
  • Route 1017 (Wilpen Road) in Ligonier Township
  • Route 381 (Linn Run Park Road) in Ligonier Township
  • Route 2004 (Austin Boulevard) Donegal Township
  • Route 2033 (Bethel Church Road) in Cook Township

Paving:

  • Route 4002 (N. Greengate Rd) in Hempfield Township

Patching:

  • Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) Unity Twp
  • Route 22 (William Penn Highway) Delmont
  • Route 30 (Lincoln HWY) N. Huntingdon Twp
  • Route 30 (Lincoln HWY) Hempfield Twp 

Pipe installation/drainage:

  • Route 711 in Ligonier Township
  • Route 3047 (Ridge Road) in North Huntingdon Township

Pipe repair:

  • Route 2021 (MT Pleasant/Kecksburg Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township

Pavement restoration:

  • Route 3089 (Water Street) in East Huntingdon Township
  • Route 31 in South Huntingdon Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
