    PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

    Week of July 27, 2026      

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 27. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Base repair:

    • Route 1035 (Rushwood Road) in Derry Township

    Cleaning ditch channels:

    • Route 1008 (Derry Ridge Road) in Fairfield Township
    • Route 2033 (Bethel Church Road) in Unity Township

    Delineator install:

    • Route 1025 (Pizza Barn Road) in Derry Township

    Joint repair:

    • Route 31 (Mt Pleasant Road) in East Huntingdon Township
    • Route 3095 (Technology Drive) in Hempfield Township

    Pipe repair/replacement:

    • Route 982 (Kecksburg Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township
    • Route 982 (New Derry Road) in Derry Township

    Patching:

    • Various routes in Upper Burrell and Washington townships
    • Various routes in Westmoreland County
    • Route 30 in North Huntingdon Township

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
