PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

Week of April 13, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Acting Washington County Maintenance Manager Brian Malik has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 13. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brush cutting:

  • Route 2007 (Hackney Station Road) in Amwell and North Franklin townships
  • Route 2050 (Robinson Road) in North Bethlehem Township
  • Route 2053 (Weaver School Road) in North Bethlehem Township

Inlet cleaning/repair:

  • Interstate 70 in Buffalo, Canton, Donegal, North Franklin and South Strabane townships and in the City of Washington

Litter removal:

  • Interstate 70 in Buffalo, Canton, Donegal and North Franklin townships and the City of Washington
  • Route 22 (William Penn Highway) in Hanover, Robinson and Smith townships

Patching:

  • Various Routes in Washington County

Slide repair:

  • Route 2038 (Clover Hill Road) in West Pike Township
  • Road closed between Route 481 (Scenic Drive) and Route 2079 (South Ridge Road)
    • Detour:
      • Route 481 (Scenic Drive)
      • Route 2030 (California Drive)
      • Route 2079 (South Ridge Road)

Shoulder cutting:

  • Various Routes in Washington County

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
