    PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

    Week of June 15, 2026

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 15. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Boom mowing:

    • Various routes in Lower Tyrone Township and Dawson

    Crack sealing:

    • Route 21 (McClellandtown Road) in German township

    Side dozing:

    • Route 1043 (Zitney/Round Barn/Bitner Road) in Franklin Township
    • Route 1045 (Cottom/Zitney/Nellie Road) in Dunbar Township

    Pipe replacement:

    • Route 1025 (Country Club Road) in Bullskin township

    Brush cutting:

    • Various routes in Stewart and Farmington townships

    Drainage work:

    • Various routes in Springfield and Stewart townships

    Tail ditching:

    • Route 857 in Nicholson Township
    • Route 166 in Nicholson and German townships

    Bridge replacement: 

    • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Saltlick Township    
      • Road closed between Sand Pit Road and White Road    
        •  
          • Detour:     
            • Quail Hill Road    
            • Buchanan Road    
            • White Road

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
