PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

Week of September 21, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 21. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations. 

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brush cutting:

  • Various routes in Fayette County

Inlet cleaning:

  • Various routes in Fayette County

Crack sealing:

  • Route 21 (McClellandtown Road) in German Township

Base repair:

  • Route 4020 (Hopewell/Heisterberg Road) in Luzerne Township
  • Route 4022 (Labelle/Narrows/Alicia Road) in Luzerne Township
  • Route 4001 (Rush Run Road) in Luzerne Township
  • Route 4003 (Bull Run RD/Market St./High Street) in Luzerne Township

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 281 (Mae West Road) in Henry Clay Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
