Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 8. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Brush cutting:
- Various routes in German, Georges, Redstone, & North Union townships
Drainage repair:
- Various routes in Perry, Bullskin, and Connellsville townships
Inlet cleaning:
- Various routes in German and Georges townships
Shoulder cutting:
- Route 1051 (Bute Road) in Dunbar Township
- Route 1022 (Rolling Hills Estates Road) in North Union Township
Base repair:
- Route 4007 (Rowes Run Road) in Redstone and Jefferson townships
- Route 4026 (Fords Hill/ Rowes Run Smock Road) in Redstone and Jefferson townships
- Route 4028 (Grindstone Road) in Redstone and Jefferson townships
- Route 166 (Thronton Road) in Redstone Township
Pipe replacement:
- Route 281 (Mae West Road) in Henry Clay Township
Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.
PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.
Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
