PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

Week of July 6, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 6. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brush cutting:

  • Various routes in Georges, German, and Springhill townships

Side dozing:

  • Route 4032 (Bolden Road) in Franklin Township

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 819 in Lower Tyrone Township

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 40 in Wharton Township
  • Route 4032 (Bolden Road) in Franklin Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1009 (White Road) in Saltlick Township
    • Between Breakneck Road and Ulery Road 
      • Detour:    
        • County Line Road    
        • Buchanan Road    
        • White Road

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
