Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 15. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.
Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Bridge replacement:
- Route 4032 (Bolden Road) in Franklin Township
Bridge work:
- Route 2003 (Wharton Furnace Road) in Wharton Township
- Posted Detour:
- Route 40 (National Pike)
- Route 381 (Elliottsville Road)
Base repair:
- Route 2021 (Coolspring Jumonville Road) in North Union Township
- Route 2023 (Hopwood Coolspring Road) in North Union Township
- Route 3007 (Rubles Mill Road) in Georges Township
Cleaning ditches:
- Route 1031 (Broadford Road) in Upper Tyrone Township
- Route 1041 (Chaintown Road) in Lower Tyrone Township
Drainage repair:
- Route 119 (University Drive) in Dunbar Township
Inlet repair:
- Route 166 (New Geneva Road) in Nicholson Township
Side dozing:
- Route 4010 (Searights Herbert and Upper Middletown Roads) in Menallen Township
Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.
PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
