Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing single-lane restrictions on Interstate 70 in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County are scheduled to begin tonight Monday, October 20, weather and operational dependent.
Rolling single-lane restrictions are scheduled to allow crews from Strongstown to make repairs to the glare screen on the median barrier:
- Monday, October 20 at 8:00 PM to Tuesday, October 21at 6:00 AM
- I-70 eastbound
- Between Exit 44 (Arnold City) and Exit 49 (Smithton)
- I-70 westbound
- Between Exit 49 (Smithton) and Exit 44 (Arnold City)
Single-lane restrictions are scheduled to allow crews from PennLine to make guiderail repairs:
- Wednesday, October 22 at 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM
- I-70 westbound
- Between Exit 49 (Smithton) and Exit 46 (Pittsburgh/Uniontown)
Single-lane restrictions are scheduled to allow crews from Golden Triangle to implement a new traffic pattern that directs traffic from the temporary to permanent ramp at Exit 46 (Pittsburgh/Uniontown):
- Friday, October 24 at 8:00 PM to Saturday, October 25 at 6:00 AM
- I-70 eastbound
- Between Exit 44 (Arnold City) and Exit 49 (Smithton)
This work is part of the $120.6 million I-70 at Route 51 Interchange Project, which will reconstruct I-70 at Exit 46 to make the section similar to other reconstructed sections to the east and west. A Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) will replace the current substandard cloverleaf Route 51 interchange.
Motorists are asked to exercise caution driving through the work zone. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
