    Route 8 Washington Boulevard Utility Replacement Work Begins Monday Pittsburgh

    Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing water line replacement work on Washington Boulevard (Route 8) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will begin Monday, July 27 weather permitting.

    Shoulder and sidewalk restrictions will occur along Washington Boulevard in both directions between Shetland Street and Silver Lake Drive from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM weekdays through mid-November. Short-term single-lane restrictions may occur, as needed, throughout the duration of this project.

    Crews from Independent Enterprises will conduct water line replacement work.  

    PennDOT is not involved in this work and is providing this information as a public service announcement only. For additional information contact Bob Cranmer at 412-221-3435 extension 240.

    Please allow extra time and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
