Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing lane restrictions on Route 68 (Adams Street, Virginia Avenue) in Rochester Borough and Rochester Township, Beaver County will occur today, Tuesday, March 24 weather permitting.
Single-lane restrictions will occur on Route 68 between the Virginia Avenue and Jefferson Street intersection and Adams Street and New York Avenue intersection from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesday to allow crews to inspect gas main depths. Flaggers will assist with traffic control.
Lindy Paving, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $5.49 million project. The project is anticipated to take two construction seasons, wrapping in November of 2026 and will include roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, guide rail and signing updates, traffic signal upgrades, pavement markings and delineation, and other miscellaneous construction from the roundabout in Rochester Borough continuing approximately 1.3 miles to the intersection of Route 68 (Virginia Avenue) and Sunflower Road in Rochester Township. During construction, Route 68, Adams Street/Virginia Avenue will be closed and detoured, but not simultaneously, to allow the reconstruction work to occur in small sections with access to businesses and homes maintained.
