Route 2073 Allegheny River Boulevard/Allegheny Avenue at College Avenue Railroad Crossing Repair Begins Wednesday in Oakmont

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing at-grade crossing repair work on Route 2073 (Allegheny River Boulevard/Allegheny Avenue) in Oakmont Borough, Allegheny County will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1 weather permitting.

Beginning at 6:00 AM Wednesday, the College Avenue crossing between Allegheny River Boulevard and Allegheny Avenue will close to traffic around-the-clock through 6:00 PM Thursday, July 2 to allow crews from Allegheny Valley Railroad to conduct at-grade crossing repair work. Traffic will be detoured.

South of the closure

  • From Allegheny River Boulevard turn onto Plum Street
  • Plum Street becomes Hunter Road
  • Turn left onto Hamil Road
  • Turn right onto Indiana Road
  • Turn left onto Hulton Road
  • Continue to the intersection with Hulton Road/Coxcomb Hill Road
  • Turn left onto Hulton Road
  • Continue to the intersection with Allegheny Avenue
  • End detour

North of the closure

  • Same detour in the opposite direction

Truck Detour

  • From Allegheny River Boulevard turn onto Sandy Creek Road (Route 130)
  • Turn left onto Verona Road, bear right to continue onto Saltsburg Road
  • Turn left onto Leechburg Road)
  • Turn left onto Milltown Road, bear left onto Hulton Road
  • Continue to the intersection with Hulton Road/Coxcomb Hill Road
  • Turn left to continue on Hulton Road
  • Continue to the intersection with Allegheny Avenue
  • End detour
