Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a phase change on Route 2040 (Lebanon Church Road, Curry Hollow Road) in West Mifflin and Pleasant Hills boroughs, Allegheny County will begin on Thursday, July 2 weather permitting.
Beginning at approximately 5:00 AM Thursday, single-lane bidirectional traffic will be implemented through early September in the following locations:
- Traffic will be shifted into the eastbound lanes of Curry Hollow Road between Arbor Lane and Route 51 (Clairton Boulevard).
- Traffic will then cross over from the eastbound lanes to the westbound lanes at the interchange with Route 51 (Clairton Boulevard).
- Traffic will travel in the westbound lanes of Lebanon Church Road between the Route 51 (Clairton Boulevard) interchange and Ceco Drive.
All Route 51 (Clairton Boulevard) ramp access will be maintained unless otherwise noted.
These restrictions will be in place around-the-clock through early September to allow crews to conduct waterline installation, storm drainage improvements, concrete curb work, base repairs, driveway adjustments, sidewalk upgrades and paving work.
To accommodate the work listed above, the following left-hand turns will be prohibited:

- Bliss Drive to Curry Hollow Road
- Curry Hollow Road to Bliss Drive
- Ott Drive to Lebanon Church Road

Work on this $28.16 million betterment project includes widening, milling and paving, concrete patching, drainage improvements, signal upgrades, and guide rail updates will occur between Broughton Road in South Park Township and Ceco Drive in West Mifflin Borough. The project will occur in phases and require short-term and long-term lane closures, weekend lane restrictions, and a short-term ramp detour at the Route 51 interchange. The overall project is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2027.
