Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing bridge inspection activities requiring lane restrictions on I-579 in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will occur Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26 weather permitting.
To accommodate inspection activities of the Center Avenue structure over I-579, the following restrictions will occur from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day according to the schedule below:
Saturday, July 25
- Traffic will be shifted on the northbound I-579 left-hand off-ramp to Convention Center/7th Avenue.
- Traffic will be shifted and the shoulder will close on the northbound I-579 right-hand lane to east 380/Bigelow Boulevard.
Sunday, July 26
- There will be a lane restriction on southbound I-579 between the Bigelow Boulevard and Seventh Avenue on-ramps.
- Traffic will be shifted on the Seventh Avenue ramp to southbound I-579.
The above listed ramps will remain open during this inspection work.
Crews from the Azalea Group and the Sofis Rigging Company will conduct the inspection work.
