Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing traffic stoppages in the Fort Pitt (Interstate 376) and Liberty (Route 3069) tunnels in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Wednesday and Thursday, September 9-10 weather permitting.
There will be intermittent traffic stoppages for up to 15 minutes between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Wednesday and Thursday to allow crews to conduct survey work in the following locations:
Fort Pitt Tunnel
- Eastbound (inbound) I-376
- Westbound (outbound) I-376
Liberty Tunnel
- Northbound (inbound) Route 3069
- Southbound (outbound) Route 3069
These closures will not occur simultaneously. Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Additionally, these restrictions are weather dependent and only expected to occur one day.
