Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing lane restrictions on eastbound (outbound) I-376 (Parkway East) in Churchill Borough and the Municipalities of Penn Hills and Monroeville, Allegheny County, will begin Monday, September 21 weather permitting.
Starting at approximately 12:01 AM Monday morning, eastbound I-376 will have a single lane closure between the Penn Hills (Exit 80) and Monroeville (Exit 84) interchanges around-the-clock through late October. Crews will conduct highway lighting and ITS work.
The $100 million I-376 (Parkway East) betterment project will resurface the interstate and interchange ramps from the beginning of the Commercial Street Bridge in Edgewood Borough to the Monroeville (Exit 80) interchange in the Municipality of Monroeville. Additionally, bridge preservation to 20 structures including painting, approach slab replacement, concrete repairs, and other miscellaneous construction activities along with extensive drainage updates and a full concrete median barrier replacement. Safety improvements including a full highway lighting replacement from the Edgewood (Exit 77) to the PA Turnpike interchanges are included in this project. During the project, travelers can expect overnight and weekend lane restrictions on I-376 as well as short-term and long-term full closures of the interchange ramps. This project will be coordinated with other I-376 projects in the area. The overall project is anticipated to conclude in the spring of 2028. The Trumbull Corporation is the primary contractor.
