Broadhead Run Bridge Replacement in Canoe Township

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is alerting motorists to a bridge replacement project with a road closure on Locust Lane (Route 1045) in Indiana County.

Preparation work for the replacement will begin April 6.  The road closure will be implemented July 7 through September 29. Locust Lane (Route 1045) will be closed between the intersections with Wright Road and Oberlin Hill Road for the replacement of Broadhead Run Bridge.

To detour from the northern end of the structure, drivers will travel north on Locust Lane for 3.2 miles. Turn left onto Watering Trough Road. Follow Watering Trough Road for 2 miles. Turn left onto Leisure Road. Follow Leisure Road for 3.1 miles. Continue straight onto East Creek Road for 0.4 miles. Turn left at the fork in the road onto Locust Lane. Follow Locust Lane for 1 mile to reach the southern end of the structure.  Those travelling from the southern side of the structure will reverse these directions.

Charles J. Merlo of Mineral Point, PA is completing this $1.5 million bridge replacement project anticipated for completion at the end of October 2026.
