Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is alerting motorists to a bridge replacement project with a road closure on Sexton Road in Indiana County.
April 13, 2026, through January 26, 2027, the Sexton Road intersection with Route 286 will be closed between Brown Road and Hilltop Road for the replacement of the structure carrying Route 286 over Tributary to Cherry Run Bridge. To detour from the southern side of the structure, drivers will travel south on Sexton Road, turn right on to Old Route 56 West, and turn right on Route 286 East. Directions are reversed for those travelling from the northern side.
Route 286 will have alternating lane restrictions during phase 1 of the project with two-way traffic during the remainder of the project.
Plum Contracting, Greensburg, PA is completing this $1.9 million bridge replacement project.
