PennDOT Seeks Feedback on Proposal to Repair Davey Hill Road in Deerfield Township, Warren County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to view the plans for a project to repair two slide areas on Davey Hill Road (Route 3007) in Deerfield Township, Warren County.

There two active slide areas that have caused the roadway to fail. Approximately 400 vehicles a day use this portion of roadway on average.

The first slide is located approximately 2.8 miles northeast of the Tidioute Borough line. The second slide is located approximately 4.9 miles northeast of the Tidioute Borough line.

The project will include excavation and placement of stone-filled gabion baskets to create a retaining wall to support the roadway. Work will also include roadway reconstruction and updated guiderail.

Work is expected to occur in 2026 construction season.

A detour will be required during construction and is expected to be in place for approximately two weeks for each of the two locations. The proposed 14.5-mile detour route uses Route 27 (Youngsville Road) and Morrison Hill Road (Route 3011).

The public may view the plans for the Davey Hill Road Repairs online through at www.pa.gov/DOTDistrict1. Information can be found under the Projects Near You option located at the top of the webpage. The project page includes digital copies of the project handout, proposed plans, and a comment form.

Those unable to access the information online may give feedback by contacting PennDOT Project Manager Kevin Miller at kevinmille@pa.gov or 814-678-7086.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project. It is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
