King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will continue next week on a project to improve travel and safety along the Route 73 (Skippack Pike) corridor in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, April 17, through Friday, May 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in both directions between Wentz Road and Butler Pike.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT’s contractor will replace existing and install new traffic signals, signal supports, related equipment, and signage; construct new ADA curb ramps; and restore pavement markings on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) intersections with Wentz Road/Parkwood Road, Cathcart Road, Union Meeting Road, Penllyn Blue Bell Pike, Walton Road, Lewis Lane, Narcissa Road/Prophecy Creek Park and Butler Pike.
Armour & Sons Electric, Inc., of Langhorne, Bucks County, is the general contractor on the $847,000 project, which is financed with 100% federal funds. Construction on the project is expected to finish in fall 2024.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
