Construction Planned at Night Next Week on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that sign structure demolition and barrier installation are planned at night next week on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, August 18, through Thursday, August 21, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges.
  • Monday, August 18, through Wednesday, August 20, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue and Cottman Avenue interchanges.

Additionally, one full stoppage of southbound I-95 will take place each night – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday – between 11:30 PM and 12:00 AM for safe removal of each sign structure.

In the event of inclement weather, work may take place on Friday night, August 22.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur.
