    Portion of Route 531 in Erie County to be Closed Starting Next Week

    Drivers should be alert for a closure of Route 531 (Depot Road) between the Interstate 90 on and off ramps in Harborcreek Township, Erie County.

    The closure, which will limit access between Route 531 and I-90, is expected to start June 9, 2025, weather permitting. The closure is expected to be in place for approximately a month.

    Under the closure conditions, the following access points will be maintained:

    • Northbound traffic on Route 531 will have access to the I-90 eastbound on-ramp.
    • Southbound traffic on Route 531 will have access to the I-90 westbound on-ramp.
    • Interstate 90 westbound can exit to head northbound on Route 531.
    • Interstate 90 eastbound can exit to head southbound on Route 531.

    Detours will be posted using I-90 and Route 430 (Station Road), and Route 89 and I-90.

    Davison Road will remain closed.

    PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
