Project Overview

County: Wayne
State Route: 4010
Project Type: Structure Replacement Project
Expected Construction Season: Summer 2026

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an in-person and virtual plans display regarding the Route 4010-650 Structure Replacement Project over Shadigee Creek Project in Starrucca Borough, Wayne County.

The project consists of the replacement of the existing structure located on Route 4010 Section 650, carrying traffic over the Tributary to Shadigee Creek, including approach roadway widening and upgraded guiderail and end treatments. The existing 8'-11" x 6'-0" high corrugated metal plate pipe arch culvert will be replaced with a 16'-0" x 6'-6" precast reinforced concrete box culvert. The proposed roadway will consist of 2 – 11'-0" travel lanes and 4'-0" minimum shoulders. The proposed bridge will be constructed utilizing a detour.

A detour for Route 4010 (King Hill Road) will be required to perform the proposed work.  Route 4010 traffic will use an 8.7-mile detour using all state roads, including Route 4010 (Wrighter Lake Road), Route 4037 (Dixie Highway), Route 4012 (Shadigee Creek Road), and Route 4039 (Starrucca Creek Road). The detour is expected to last approximately 4 weeks during construction.
