The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, will begin making improvements on sections of Route 3017 (Main Street), Route 3014 (Sulphur Springs Road), and Route 4005 (Milligans Cove Road) on Friday, June 30, 2023, in Bedford County.
On Friday, crews will start with pavement base repairs on 7.8 miles of Route 3017 (Main Street) from Route 96 to Route 31. Traffic will be controlled under short-term, daylight flagging operations. Additional work involves resurfacing, mill and overlay in Manns Choice Borough, new pavement markings, minor drainage work, and other miscellaneous construction.
The overall project includes this same preservation work to be completed on 1.3-miles of Route 3014 (Sulphur Springs Road) and on less than one-mile of Route 4005 (Milligans Cove Road). Minor traffic delays of no longer than 15 minutes are expected during construction on all routes. Motorists are warned to use caution, drive slowly, and stay alert for workers and equipment in the construction zones.
The $1.3 million project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August and is weather dependent.
