Lane Restrictions Next Week on I-83 Bridge over Conewago Creek in York County

Right lane closures for bridge inspection

Harrisburg, PA – Motorists traveling on Interstate 83 between York and Harrisburg are advised there will be daytime lane restrictions implemented next week on the southbound and northbound I-83 bridge spanning Conewago Creek approximately 1.5 miles north of Exit 28 (Route 297/Zions View/Strinestown) in York County so an inspection can be performed.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed Monday, July 17, through Thursday, July 20.

The southbound right lane will be closed Monday July 17, and Tuesday July 18, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and the northbound right lane will be closed Wednesday July 19, and Thursday July 20, during the same hours. One lane will remain open each day.

Inspectors plan to inspect the bridge using an inspection crane from the roadway.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
