Traffic will be restricted on I-83
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today there will be traffic restrictions next week on Interstate 83 in York County so inspections can be performed on the Route 238 and Route 124 bridges spanning the interstate.
Weather permitting, an inspection will be performed Monday, October 9, and Tuesday, October 10, on the Route 238 (Church Road) bridge spanning I-83 at Exit 24 in Manchester Township. There will be alternating left and right lane restrictions on I-83 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from noon to 2:00 PM both days.
An inspection will be performed Wednesday, October 11, and Thursday, October 12, on the Route 124 (Mount Rose Avenue) bridge spanning the interstate at Exit 18 in Springettsbury Township. There will be alternating left and right lane restrictions on I-83 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from noon to 2:00 PM both days.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
